Civil servants (by transfer or competitive exam winners) can apply. Contract agents can also be hired if no civil servant could be recruited. No competitive exam is needed, as the entry grade allows direct hiring.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP or BEP in mechanics, or equivalent
The profile they look for:
- CAP or BEP in mechanics, or equivalent.
- Category B and C driving licences required; EC licence an advantage.
- Knowledge of light and heavy vehicle mechanics, electrics and hydraulics.
- Skilled use of specialised tools and the diagnostic base.
- Rigorous, autonomous, adaptable, with a public service mindset.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Working hours of 37 hours over 4.5 days.
- Remote work not possible.
- Possible move to a deputy mechanics manager post, depending on profiles.
- Post vacant from 26/11/2026, to be filled as soon as possible.
