Civil servants and contract workers can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP, BEP or vocational bac in green spaces, landscaping or flower growing desired
The profile they look for:
- Good knowledge of horticulture and plant identification.
- Skilled in planting, maintaining and developing green spaces.
- Able to use and maintain garden equipment.
- Public service mindset, rigour and punctuality.
- Able to work in a team and work on your own.
- Physical fitness suited to the job.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Working time of 36 hours 45 minutes per week.
- Wearing protective equipment is compulsory.
- Outdoor work in all weather, with physical effort.
- Occasional work on weekends and public holidays. Driving licence B required or desired depending on needs.
