Civil servants and contract staff can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Ideally a CAPA or BPA in landscape works, or a BTSA in landscape development
The profile they look for:
- Good knowledge of green space maintenance and plants.
- Knowledge of the equipment used by gardeners.
- Knows health and safety rules at work.
- Good team spirit, punctuality and initiative.
- Interest in landscapes and alternative management methods.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your application by email or by post to the Human Resources department of the town.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence B required.
- Heavy goods vehicle licence and CACES certificates are a plus.
- Full-time job, continuous working hours depending on the season (about 6am to 2:30pm).
- Meal vouchers and 75% of public transport season tickets paid.
