Open to civil servants of the local government service (adjoint technique grades) and to contract staff. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly at this entry grade of category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: No specific training required; internal training may be offered
Experience: Experience in caretaking or maintenance preferred

- Be physically able to do the tasks required
- Follow hygiene, cleanliness and safety rules
- Show initiative and the ability to plan ahead
- Be motivated, good with people and tactful
- Work independently
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Weekends worked on a rota basis
- Variable hours depending on the week: 6:00 to 13:18, 13:00 to 20:18 or 14:42 to 23:00
- Leave must be taken during school holidays
