Open only to contract workers (contractuels), not civil servants. Non-EU foreign candidates need a valid residence permit with work authorisation. A criminal record compatible with teaching is required.
Category: Category A (executive)
Diploma: Licence (bachelor's degree) in physics-chemistry, or bac+5 in mathematics and physics-chemistry.
Experience: Beginners accepted. Experience in teaching or in the subject is wanted.
The profile they look for:
- Hold a licence in physics-chemistry, or a bac+5 in mathematics and physics-chemistry.
- Good command of spoken and written French.
- Good knowledge of teaching methods and classroom management.
- Good organisation and interpersonal skills.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full time: 18 hours of classes per week, over 36 weeks.
- Training planned during school holidays or Wednesday afternoons.
- Immediate hiring possible, or placement on a pool of candidates.
- Foreign diplomas: equivalence must be certified by Enic-Naric France.
