Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible because the job is open at entry-level category C grades.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced; solid experience in building electrical work or electrical maintenance.
The profile they look for:
- Solid experience in building electrical work or electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical safety rules and risk prevention procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and repair faults.
- Electrical authorisations (habilitations électriques).
- Category B and heavy goods vehicle licences are required.
- Public lighting, aerial platform (nacelle) and vehicle operation are a plus.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category B and heavy goods vehicle licences are required.
- Technical on-call duty and work during bad weather.
- Taking part in snow clearing and gritting in winter.
