Civil servants can apply for the Adjoint technique des établissements d'enseignement grades. A person who did not pass a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C. Candidates recognised as disabled workers can also be hired on contract.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Master first-level electrical maintenance work.
- Be able to read an electrical diagram and an installation plan.
- Be able to find the cause of faults and fix them.
- Know and apply safety rules, including fire prevention.
- Know the rules for storing and using dangerous products.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:

- The offer says the posts are reserved for civil servants, but it also says contract hiring is possible. Check before applying.
- The work may include working at height, carrying loads and electrical risks.
- Driving a company vehicle may be possible.
