2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

Send your application electronically to the ministry's secretary general, at the address given in the offer. It must arrive within 30 days of publication in the Journal officiel.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Post held for 4 years, renewable up to 6 years in total.
- Probation period of 6 months.
- Security clearance for national defence secrets required.
- Post may become vacant from 01/12/2026.
