Civil servants (titulaires) can apply by secondment to a senior post. Contract staff can also be hired if no civil servant application succeeds.

Diploma: Higher education in public action, public law or local management
Experience: Proven management experience in a local authority, ideally of a similar size

2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
