Civil servants must meet the conditions of article 15 of decree 2023-1122 (category A, ten years of seniority). Contract staff can also apply.
Category: Category A+ (senior management)
Diploma: Level 6 (licence or equivalent degree)
The profile they look for:
- Know how SPIPs, the DGAP and the justice system are organised
- Know prison law texts and the enforcement of sentences
- Be able to manage and lead a team towards results
- Lead projects, set priorities and structure work
- Listen well, communicate and work as part of a team
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
No deadline given: the offer can be withdrawn at any time, do not wait.
Apply on the official Choisir le Service Public offer. Also send your file by email to the General Secretariat and the DAP, at the addresses given in the offer, within 30 days of publication.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Post subject to the special statute of prison administration civil servants
