Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, as the entry grade of category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP Agent polyvalent de restauration (catering CAP), or significant experience in a similar job.
Experience: Experienced; significant experience in a similar job.
The profile they look for:
- Know the nutritional needs of children.
- Apply food hygiene and safety rules, including HACCP.
- Master basic cooking techniques.
- Read a recipe and convert the quantities.
- Know safe lifting and handling movements.
- Be punctual, organised and able to work as a team.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
