Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Professional baccalaureate in community catering or CAP cook with significant experience
Experience: Experienced; experience in a care home and/or community catering welcome
The profile they look for:
- Be able to give clear instructions.
- Know food hygiene and the HACCP method.
- Check supplies and deliveries against orders.
- Master cooking techniques for mass catering.
- Know how to plan culinary production.
- Be a source of ideas and suggestions.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full time: 8.5-hour day (7:30 to 16:00), 1 weekend in 4 worked.
- Position to be filled from 1 December 2026.
- No remote work possible.
- Contribution to income protection and a labelled health insurance; CNAS and FDAS membership.
