Civil servants must hold the grade of adjoint technique principal (1st or 2nd class). Contract staff can also apply, if no civil servant has been selected.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Good knowledge of road safety rules
- Skilled at operating building machines, including trenches and earthworks
- Knowledge of basic road works techniques
- Knowledge of health and safety rules
- Category B and C driving licences required, EC licence wanted
- Basic mechanical knowledge
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
