Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP or BEP in automotive mechanics, vehicle maintenance or equipment maintenance
Experience: Beginners accepted
The profile they look for:
- CAP or BEP in automotive mechanics or maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of light and heavy vehicle mechanics.
- Diagnose faults and decide the repairs needed.
- Manage, assign tasks to and motivate a team of mechanics.
- Check repair quality and compliance with safety rules.
- Manage priorities, emergencies, and follow-up of stock and suppliers.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 13 (Closes in 12 days)
Send your cover letter and CV by email or by post to the Ville de Fort-de-France, stating the exact job title. You can also apply on the employer's website.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
