Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the grade offered is an entry grade of category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Rigour and organisation.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Day-to-day team management and conflict handling.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques.
- Sense of public service and confidentiality.
- Good skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

Apply on the employer's website, or send your CV and cover letter by email or by post to the town hall.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Supervision allowance (NBI encadrement de proximité).
- Wearing the work clothing and personal protective equipment is mandatory.
- Work follows a rota, with possible evenings and weekends.
- May be asked to replace staff when the service needs it.
