Permanent civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP in plumbing, water quality, electromechanics, water trades or equivalent
Experience: Beginners accepted
The profile they look for:
- CAP in plumbing, water trades, electromechanics or equivalent.
- Category B driving licence required; BE, CACES, CATEC and AIPR appreciated.
- Skills in plumbing, mechanics, electrics and water treatment.
- Ability to analyse a problem and solve it quickly.
- Works safely around electrical, gas and road traffic risks.
- Autonomous, careful, available, good communicator, public service values.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- On-call duty one week per month.
- Category B driving licence required.
- Remote work not possible.
- 25 days of paid leave and 23 days of RTT (days off in lieu).
