Civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents can apply. A person who did not pass a civil service competition can be hired, because the grade offered is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Know the collection rounds and work well in a team.
- Follow safety rules, for yourself and for others.
- Be punctual, reliable and brave.
- Have good physical strength and work quickly.
- Represent the local authority to residents.
- Hold a category C driving licence, and possibly FIMO / FCO.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Outdoor work, with early and variable hours.
- Wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory.
- The job is physically demanding: standing, lifting loads, noise and smells.
- Remote work is not possible.
