Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to drive heavy trucks (category C licence).
- FCO or FIMO preferred, but not required.
- Enjoys versatile work.
- Experience driving specialised equipment, such as a crane, is ideal.
- Knows sorting rules and the waste streams collected.
- Aware of workplace safety and enjoys teamwork.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Training possible for using the radio-controlled crane.
- Hours: morning 6am to 12pm or afternoon 1:30pm to 7:30pm, Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.
- Hiring: a first phone call, then a possible in-person interview.
