Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a public exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Bac+2 level minimum
Experience: Beginners accepted
The profile they look for:
- Bac+2 level minimum.
- Knowledge of the planning code and administrative procedures.
- Knowledge of the building and housing code and rules for buildings open to the public (ERP).
- Ability to read plans and maps, and measure and calculate areas.
- Good writing, analysis and summary skills.
- Ability to handle conflict situations.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Car driving licence (permis VL) required.
- Category C post, no management role.
