Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person without a civil service exam can be hired, because the grade offered is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP, BEP, Bac or BTS in green spaces, landscaping or maintenance (ideally)
The profile they look for:
- CAP, BEP, Bac or BTS in green spaces, landscaping or maintenance, ideally.
- Good knowledge of safety rules for play equipment.
- Knowledge of green space maintenance.
- Good skill with specific tools and equipment.
- Able to run a job or site on your own.
- Driving licence B required.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your CV and cover letter to the town hall's human resources department by post or email.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Fixed working hours.
- Takes part in on-call duty and the winter road service.
- Mostly outdoor work.
- No leave from mid-May to end of June, and no RTT from June to end of August.
