Civil servants can apply for the grades of rédacteur, rédacteur principal de 2nd class or rédacteur principal de 1st class. Contract workers can also apply, when no civil servant application has succeeded.

2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 15 (Closes in 14 days)
Apply on the employer's site, by clicking the « Postuler sur le site employeur » button on the official offer on Choisir le Service Public.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category B post (intermediate profession).
- Post vacant from 1 December 2026.
- For a contract worker, the contract cannot exceed 3 years, renewable up to 6 years at most.
- A contract worker can be hired if no civil servant has applied.
