Civil servants and contract staff can apply. The post is open to the grades of engineer, principal engineer and senior engineer. A contract worker may be hired if no civil servant applies.

The profile they look for:
- Higher education in building.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of local authority procedures and the public procurement code.
- Good knowledge of the tertiary decree, the BACS decree and safety rules for public buildings.
- Driving licence category B.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 15 (Closes in 14 days)
Apply online on the Tarnos town website, in the section « la Mairie recrute », which is the preferred way. You can also send a cover letter and a CV to the town hall human resources department.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Frequent travel within the town.
- Meetings possible outside office hours.
- Holidays to be adjusted to the works, with a heavy workload during school holidays.
- Must stand in for the Building Heritage Department manager during his absences.
