Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person without a competitive exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP petite enfance or AEPE
Experience: Beginners accepted
The profile they look for:
- CAP petite enfance or AEPE diploma, or ATSEM competitive exam.
- Support child development from age 2.
- Follow basic hygiene and safety rules.
- Listen well, handle conflicts and communicate.
- Good sense of organisation.
- Be independent, responsible, discreet and patient.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
