The job is open to civil servants and contract staff. A person who did not pass a competitive exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP AEPE, or success in the ATSEM competitive exam
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of child development from age 2
- Mastery of hygiene and safety rules
- Mastery of emergency and first aid actions
- Knowledge of play and childhood awakening techniques
- Rigour and quick reactions, especially in emergencies
- Good people skills and listening ability
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
