Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C.

Diploma: Success in the ATSEM competitive exam or a CAP AEPE
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of child development from age 2
- Skills in hygiene and safety techniques
- Skills in emergency and rescue gestures
- Knowledge of child play and awakening activities
- Rigour
- Quick reaction, especially in emergencies
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- A contract worker can be hired for one year maximum, renewable up to 2 years in total.
