Civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents can apply. A contract agent can be hired when no civil servant application has succeeded.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP Accompagnant éducatif petite enfance, or ATSEM civil service exam
Experience: Beginners accepted
The profile they look for:
- Hold the CAP Accompagnant éducatif petite enfance diploma, or have passed the ATSEM civil service exam.
- Know how children develop from age 2.
- Apply hygiene and safety rules.
- Be able to handle conflicts and communicate well.
- Be well organised.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 28 (Closes in 30 days)
Apply on the employer's website. You can also send your CV and cover letter to the town hall, by email or by post.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category C post.
- Remote work not possible.
- Post vacant from 1 January 2027.
- Open grades: ATSEM principal 1st or 2nd class.
