Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. The post is open at the grades of ATSEM principal 1st class or 2nd class.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP early childhood care (petite enfance)
The profile they look for:
- CAP early childhood care diploma (CAP petite enfance).
- Hold the ATSEM civil service exam (concours d'ATSEM).
- Know child development from age 2 (motor, social, emotional and cognitive).
- Apply basic hygiene and safety rules.
- Be able to communicate and handle conflicts.
- Be independent, responsible, discreet and patient.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
