Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who did not pass a civil service exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP early childhood care (petite enfance)
Experience: Confirmed experience.
The profile they look for:
- CAP early childhood care diploma required.
- Hold the ATSEM civil service exam (concours d'ATSEM).
- Know how children develop from age 2.
- Apply basic hygiene and safety rules.
- Be able to communicate and handle conflicts.
- Be independent, responsible, discreet and patient.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Send your cover letter and CV by email to the commune, as stated in the offer. You can also apply on the employer's website.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- The job may include lunchtime, after-school and out-of-school care.
