Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: BAFA, CAP early childhood educational support, or equivalent
Experience: Beginners accepted
The profile they look for:
- Hold the BAFA, a CAP in early childhood care, or an equivalent diploma.
- Enjoy teamwork.
- Care about children's needs and well-being.
- Be able to supervise a group of children.
- Be energetic and full of ideas for activities.
- Be available Monday to Friday, except Wednesday, during school terms.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Working time of 15h37 per week, annualised.
- Lunch sessions from 11:30 to 14:00 and evening sessions from 16:15 to 18:00.
- Municipal meals provided as a benefit in kind.
