Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired at this entry grade of category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP, BEP or bac pro in cooking
Experience: Experienced
The profile they look for:
- Know HACCP standards and procedures.
- Know food hygiene and safety rules.
- Be able to prepare dishes under the head chef's direction.
- Master basic cooking techniques.
- Know safe lifting and handling postures.
- Be punctual, organised and a good team player.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Wearing personal protective equipment (EPI) is compulsory.
- The job may involve carrying heavy loads.
- Wearing jewellery is forbidden (wedding ring tolerated).
