Civil servants and contract staff can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible, at an entry-level category C grade (adjoint technique).
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP/BEP in carpentry or equivalent training
The profile they look for:
- CAP/BEP in carpentry or equivalent training
- Good knowledge of sanitary plumbing
- Skill with maintenance tools and power tools
- Organised, independent, rigorous and a team player
- Sense of public service
- Driving licence category B required
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full time, 39 hours a week, with 22 days of RTT (time off in lieu).
- On-call duty possible depending on service needs.
- Indoor and outdoor work, with frequent travel around the town.
