Open to civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents. The grades offered are ATSEM principal 1st class and ATSEM principal 2nd class.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP Early Childhood Educational Assistant (AEPE)
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of child development and needs.
- Knowledge of hygiene and safety rules.
- Ability to support children and assist teachers.
- Kindness, patience, listening skills and teamwork.
- Sense of responsibility and organisation.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full-time job, with 4 days a week during school term and 5 days during school holidays.
- A nursery school assistant competitive exam (concours d'ATSEM) is appreciated.
