Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the entry grade of category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Understand child development from 2 to 6 years old.
- Know the project and programme of the nursery school.
- Be able to run play and learning activities.
- Recognise warning signs in a child's behaviour.
- Punctuality, reliability and ability to work in a team.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- No remote work possible.
- Attached to a reference school, with possible move to another school or a floating team.
- Working time of 37h30 per week, with different hours during school holidays.
