Civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents can apply. You must hold the ATSEM competitive exam or at least the CAP AEPE.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP AEPE (early childhood care) or ATSEM competitive exam
Experience: Experience with young children would be appreciated.
The profile they look for:
- Hold the ATSEM competitive exam or at least the CAP AEPE.
- Know how children develop from age 2 to 6.
- Know the hygiene and safety rules.
- Work well in a team, with discretion and patience.
- Be organised and show initiative.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Part-time: 33 hours per week, averaged over the year.
- Mainly works during the 36 school weeks, with cleaning during school holidays.
- Post open at the grade of ATSEM principal de 1ère classe.
- Remote work is not possible.
