Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competitive exam can be hired directly for this category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of road maintenance and road signs.
- Driving licence category B required, category C an advantage.
- Good physical fitness to lift heavy loads.
- Team spirit and ability to work on your own.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website from the official offer, then send your CV and cover letter by email to the town's recruitment department.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full-time, 36.5 hours per week and 36 days of rest per year.
- Long periods standing and outdoor work in all weather.
- On-call duty shared between staff.
- Meal vouchers covered at 50%.
