Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced candidate.
The profile they look for:
- Driving licence category B required.
- Knowledge of roads and their upkeep.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules.
- Able to spot faults and report them.
- Able to work in a team and communicate.
- Works on their own and organises well.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply through the employer's site linked from the official offer page. You also send your application by email, addressed to the Mayor.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Replaces a retiring officer, with a handover of at least 3 weeks.
- On-call duty in winter and summer, and some work alone.
- Heavy goods licence, CACES and certificates are preferred.
- Remote work is not possible.
