Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly for this entry-level category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Confirmed, significant experience in the field.
The profile they look for:
- In-depth experience in building work and electrical maintenance.
- Electrical authorisation (habilitation électrique) required.
- Driving licence category B required.
- Quick reactions, patience and adaptability.
- Comfortable with management, relations and communication.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website. The offer also asks you to send your CV and cover letter to the town hall.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence category B required.
- On-call duty (astreintes) required on weekdays and weekends, several times a year.
- Outdoor work, exposed to bad weather.
