Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person without a civil service competitive exam can be hired, because the grade is an entry-level category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Basic knowledge of road works, maintenance and urban cleanliness.
- Knowledge of safety rules on work sites.
- Team spirit and a sense of public service.
- Reactivity, initiative and autonomy in organising work.
- Driving licence B required, licence C preferred.
- CACES category 4 appreciated.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Working hours vary by season, 35 or 36 hours per week.
- Weekly operational on-call duty from May to October.
- Frequent travel across the whole commune.
- Post vacant from 1 December 2026.
