Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Basic skills in plumbing, electrics, joinery, painting and masonry.
- Green space upkeep: mowing, hedge trimming, weeding.
- Find the cause of a fault and make first-level repairs.
- Follow health and safety rules and wear protective equipment.
- Driving licence B often required; electrical certification depending on the post.
- Versatility, independence and good contact with residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 16 (Closes in 15 days)
Apply on the employer's website, reached from the official offer. Send your CV and cover letter.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence B often required for travel or on-call duty.
- Occasional tasks: snow clearing, setting up and taking down marquees.
