Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible, because the grade offered is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Travel constantly between work sites.
- Be highly available.
- Accept irregular or split working hours.
- Cope with physically demanding work and lifting loads.
- Have frequent contact with elected officials and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send a cover letter and CV by email to the town hall's HR team, or by post.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Seasonal work with peaks of activity linked to the weather.
- Irregular hours with a large daily spread.
- Remote work not possible.
