1 Check the conditions You are here
Civil servants of the local public service and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a competition can be hired, because the grade is an entry grade of category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Practical knowledge of green space management.
- Knowledge of pruning, tree trimming and felling techniques.
- Knowledge of safety rules and plant protection products.
- Knowledge of garden machinery.
- Good organisation, independence and initiative.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your application to the town hall's human resources department by email or by post.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence category B is required.
- Trailer licence BE and CACES 1 and 8 are wanted.
- Certiphyto wanted, or to be taken after hiring.
- Training in green spaces is wanted; experience would be a plus.
