Civil servants have priority, and contract agents can be hired if no civil servant applies. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can apply, as the grade is an entry level in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of sorting rules and waste categories.
- Sense of public service and customer care.
- Ability to enforce safety rules calmly and firmly.
- Good physical fitness and safe lifting practices.
- Comfortable working in a team.
- Everyday use of computer tools.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full-time job, 35 hours per week.
- Outdoor work, in daily contact with residents.
- Wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory.
- A work phone is provided; may work on other sites or tasks.
