Open to civil servants and contract agents. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Diploma in the field and/or proven experience
The profile they look for:
- Diploma or proven experience in catering
- Knowledge of Réunion cuisine
- Knowledge of hygiene and food safety rules (HACCP)
- Mastery of basic cooking techniques
- Teamwork and respect for schedules
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- The department may check references and organise tests or work simulations.

- The job involves handling heavy and hot equipment.
