Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the entry grade of category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of masonry or road and network works (VRD).
- Able to operate the department's machinery.
- Able to drive vehicles.
- Works well in a team and adapts to unexpected situations.
- General understanding of safety.
- Respectful, available, sense of public service.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website linked from the offer, or send your application by email or by post to the mairie's human resources department.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Two similar posts are open.
- A heavy goods vehicle licence (permis C poids lourds) is required.
- Taking part in events (snow, floods, storms) and work outside normal hours is possible.
