Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly for this entry-level category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge or experience in public works or farming.
- Driving licence B, C and ideally EC.
- CACES or experience driving site machines is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety and health rules on construction sites.
- Independence, rigour, teamwork and ability to adapt.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Outdoor work depending on weather, with adapted hours.
- Wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory.
- On-call duty possible to support the road maintenance teams.
- Travel across the whole department, which may lead to longer hours.
