Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the grade offered is an entry-level category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: BEP, CAP or Bac Pro, or proven experience
The profile they look for:
- Driving licence category B required.
- Technical diploma: BEP, CAP or Bac Pro, or solid proven experience.
- Basic knowledge of building trades.
- Knowledge of safety rules and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Works independently, good team spirit and a public service mindset.
- Quick to react and available.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Irregular hours, possible work on weekends, at night or on on-call duty.
- Wearing personal protective equipment is compulsory; work outdoors, sometimes in bad weather.
