Civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly for this entry grade of category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Similar experience in a local authority is appreciated, but not required.
The profile they look for:
- Know cleaning and disinfection methods.
- Know hygiene and safety rules for children's services.
- Know occupational risks and the HACCP method.
- Be organised, rigorous and adaptable.
- Have a sense of public service and teamwork.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- A certificate of good character (attestation d'honorabilité) less than 6 months old will be requested. It is required for hiring.
- Working time of 35 hours per week, annualised.
- Heavy physical work is needed for cleaning the premises and equipment.
