Titular territorial technical assistants and contract agents can apply. A person who is not a civil servant can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct hiring without a competitive exam.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Hygiene diploma, or equivalent experience
Experience: Equivalent experience in cleaning and maintaining premises, if no diploma
The profile they look for:
- Titular territorial technical assistant, or contract agent with a hygiene diploma or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of hygiene rules for childcare settings
- Safe manual handling and lifting postures
- Awareness of risks from cleaning products
- Able to organise own work and work in a team
- Attentive, rigorous, discreet and forward-thinking
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Variable hours depending on the schedule, between 7:15 and 19:15 depending on the nursery
- Nurseries close for 5 weeks per year
- Regular contact with children and parents
- Remote work not possible
