Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced.
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of road and utility networks (VRD) and road signs.
- Able to drive vehicles and construction machines.
- Able to read a plan and install road elements.
- Knows health and safety rules for worksites.
- Works well in a team and reports back.
- Driving licence B required.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- A C licence, BE licence or R482 and R485 certificates would be an advantage.
- Work of 37 hours per week, with overtime paid back as time off.
- Remote work is not possible.
