Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Diploma at least at level V (CAP, BEP) in a building trade
The profile they look for:
- Hold a diploma at least at level V in building trades.
- Know health, safety, asbestos and ERP regulations.
- Be able to assess risks and manage stock.
- Know building and landscape maintenance techniques.
- Be able to analyse upkeep and maintenance contracts.
- Communicate well, report on work and work with others.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Post vacant from 1 January 2027.
- Category C, adjoint technique grades for schools.
- A contract worker can be hired if no civil servant applies.
